Chelsey is a graphic designer and photographer from Kansas who loves all things marketing and wildlife conservation. Her passion for wildlife began when volunteering at a local wildlife park near her house where she realized she wanted to spend not just her free time with animals, but make it her career and mission.
She spent 6 months living in Costa Rica for a marketing internship at another wildlife rescue center where she was introduced to The Sloth Institute. Since then, she has been helping TSI with social media marketing, graphic design, and fundraising.
Her favorite species are three-fingered sloths and pygmy owls and she wouldn’t be caught near one without her camera.
Why I love sloths
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing’s going to get better. It’s not.” -Dr. Seuss
Every time I hear or see that quote I think to myself, “how can I help save something I love?” Something I care deeply about and is crucial to our overall health and survival is our rainforests. Sloths play an important role in the cycling of resources throughout the forest therefore by saving the sloths, we are saving the rainforest and many other species. But also, aren’t they just the cutest things you’ve ever seen?!
Saving sloths is not just about protecting a species, it’s about preserving an entire ecosystem and the delicate balance of nature.
