A New Chapter in Sloth Research
This year, we’re excited to embark on a new research project, made possible by our recently renewed permit. Sloths face numerous challenges in their environment, and understanding their behavioral ecology is crucial to their survival. Our latest initiative involves comparing sloths living near the beach to those in the mountains within the same region.
Our goal? To uncover differences in their health, diets, behaviors, and how they use their habitats. This vital information will help us determine which areas are most critical for sloth survival and guide future conservation strategies.

Meet Tilly: Sloth of the Month
This month, we’re thrilled to spotlight Tilly as our Sloth of the Month! Tilly’s journey is a testament to the resilience and spirit of sloths. Rescued from the illegal selfie trade in 2018 after an undercover investigation by our team, Tilly underwent rehabilitation and was successfully released back into the wild.
Today, she’s thriving and raising her fifth baby! Despite the trauma of her past, Tilly has become an incredible mother, ensuring her babies reach a healthy weight before weaning. She’s also contributing to our new research project, helping us better understand how sloths adapt and thrive in different habitats.
