You may recall the story about Phantom and Britney, two female sloths rescued after enduring awful injuries from electrocutions. We have some exciting updates for you regarding their recoveries. We are pleased to report that after months of daily wound treatments, both Britney and Phantom are healing perfectly!
Both ladies are within a few weeks from release – all that is left is for their skin to completely close up so that they are no longer at risk of infection.
Unfortunately, Britney has some permanent damage to one of her fingers where the electrocuted tissue was killed, however, this will not affect her ability to survive successfully in the wild!
Phantom’s limbs are fully functioning however, sadly she has significant scarring on her skin from the electrocution burns. Her face is now permanently discolored and some of her hair may never grow back over the scars, but amazingly she has survived thousands of volts of electricity!
Your help gives sweet sloths a fighting chance to live their best lives in the wild!
