ConservationReleased SlothsSloth Diaries
For the last few months, we’ve been sharing with you the incredible story of DOLLY, the two-fingered sloth who lost partial use of her arm due to being electrocuted on a power line.
Thanks to experimental acupuncture treatment, she regained use of her arm! We continued her rehabilitation by taking her swimming. She a great patient! She overcame her injury and disabilities amazingly well, so we decided she was ready to return to the wild.
TSI Co-founder and Sloth Director Sam Trull is so proud of Dolly. “All is perfect with her arm and hand now. She’s also helping dispel a big myth that two-fingered sloths can not swim. People have even commented on TSI’s Facebook page when we talk about sloths swimming that they think only three-fingered sloths can swim. Well, here is the proof! We captured this great footage of Dolly swimming during her rehabilitation.”
