ConservationReleased SlothsSloth Diaries
Carrie, a one-eyed two-fingered sloth, was brought to TSI by our local Quepos firefighters. She was found at a bus station hanging onto the roof!
We treated her eye, and although it was discovered to be permanently damaged, that does not keep Carrie from being able to live in the wild. Two-fingered sloths rely more heavily on scent and hearing than eye sight. In fact, they are very near-sighted.
Sloths are amazing creatures! We wish Carrie well on her return back to the rainforest (and hopefully no more bus stations for Carrie!)
